MEMORIES of the Aberfan disaster will be invoked to help boost the Haiti Earthquake Appeal next week.
Young actors of Swansea-based Class Act Theatre School (CATS) have put together a special show of mini-monologues recalling the 1966 coal-tip tragedy.
Their hour-long piece, called The Sixties v The Noughties, is free to watch, but those attending will be invited to donate to the Disaster Emergency Committee’s Haiti fund.
CATS production co-director Kayte Walsh said her students, aged between seven and 10, had put a lot of hard work into the piece.
“As January’s earthquake will become part of Haiti’s history, Aberfan will always be a key moment in the story of Wales,” she said.
The Sixties v The Noughties takes place at Pontardawe Arts Centre from 2pm on Saturday, March 13.
