MEMORIES of the Aberfan disaster helped boost the Haiti Earthquake Appeal by £300 last weekend.
A stage production by Swansea Valley children, aged seven to 10, featured mini-monologues recalling the 1966 coal-tip tragedy.
The young actors, of Class Act Theatre School (Cats) showcased their skills at Pontardawe Arts Centre.
It was a free event and members were invited to donate to the Disaster Emergency Committee’s Haiti fund.
Production co-director Kayte Walsh said: “It was a great effort for a good cause by our young students.”
The performance featured song, dance, poetry and humour from more than 40 young stage stars.
