I have booked two rehearsal weekends at Margam Park residential centre:
15 January 2010 (4pm) to 17 January 2010 (4pm)
Ponti 2 & PYT 2, Cockett 2 & West X 2
30 April 2010 (4pm) to 2 May 2010 (4pm)
Ponti Youth 1, Cockett 1 & 3, West X 1
I am negotiating the best price I can and will let you know the cost as soon as I can. I would be grateful if those attending the first weekend could bring a deposit of £20.00 in a clearly marked envelope to our first class after half term.
I am hoping that by having these intensive weekends we can cut back on the amount of rehearsals we usually have for a show but this will really depend on all the company being in attendance! If any parents are willing to attend the weekend too – their support would be greatly appreciated if they can give to Margam an up to date CRB certificate.
Any questions, send me an email.
Thanks,
Jill
Our next course at Margam will run from April 30th to May 2nd 2010 and we will be rehearsing Godspell. All students from Cockett 3 will be required to stay for two nights, children in Cockett 1 and West Cross 1 who are in Year 5 and above will also need to stay for 2 nights. The other children in these two classes will be day and evening visitors and therefore do not need to stay over at the Centre. More details will be issued in class.
I would love to take the cast of Snow White for a panto rehearsal residency in Margam and have provisionally booked the weekend of October 15th-17th for this end. Let me know what you think as students and parents? I am concerned about extra cost of £70 just before Christmas but know the weekend experience would really benefit!
Thanks,
Jill
Previous announcements:
The weekend at Margam on Jan 15th–17th is now going ahead and thank you to those who have already returned the £20.00 deposit. We will use this weekend to learn all the music for the show and we will be holding auditions for each of the parts over the weekend for our new show 13. This fantastic new show ran on Broadway last year and has just been released in this country so we will be one of the first companies to perform the musical. The story tells of a young Jewish boy who is about to have his Bar Mitzvah and turn 13; both he and his friends embark on their teenage years and we have an insight into all the complications that can arise whilst growing up! The music and script are both beautiful and funny and I absolutely love the show and am sure that the cast and audience will too! Please put the CD of the show on Christmas lists to Santa!
The balance outstanding for the weekend is £50.50 (if you have paid £20.00 deposit £70.50 if not!) - cheques payable to “Field Studies Council” and I need to receive this as soon as possible and by the very latest, the first class after Christmas.
I am so sorry about the short notice but this early weekend became available in Margam and it was an opportunity too good to miss. The price includes food, accommodation with all bedding, and each room in this brand new build is en suite. The weekend will be staffed by members of the food team at Margam, myself and other teachers in Class Act who are all CRB certified. The children attending this weekend are in Cockett 2, West X 2, Ponti 2 and Ponti Youth Theatre 2 only.
Contact us if you are interested or for any further questions
I will issue a time table and further information regarding the weekend and post it on the website during December…
I would like the children to arrive at Margam on Fri Jan 15th as near to 4pm as possible and they can be collected at 4pm on Sunday Jan 17th.
Many thanks as always for your much valued support.
Yours truly,
Jill
