Magnificent Myths of the Mabinogi

The latest production by Class Act Theatre

A re-interpretation for the stage by award-winning dramatist, Manon Eames at Pontardawe Arts Centre on 7th / 8th / 9th April 2009.

Combining epic drama and fine observation, music and movement, talented young performers from Pontardawe’s Class Act Theatre School bring our country’s oldest stories to the stage in a new and powerful, bilingual production – directed by Jill Williams.

No human passion is untouched by the Mabinogi. Humour and pathos collide with tragedy and despair as the powers of the Underworld contrive to challenge earthly friendships and loyalties.

Introducing princes and knights, maidens and queens, wise men and magicians – each seeking to overcome the fantastical strengths and powers of the Celtic world – Magnificent Myths of the Mabinogi is a dark adventure to thrill, excite and delight.

First performed by The National Youth Theatre of Wales on 5th September 2008 at Aberystwyth Arts Centre.
